Theophilus TowerWallace Residence Center

Theophilus Tower

Theophilus Tower, the University of Idaho’s eleven-story residence hall, is being transformed to enhance the first-year student experience. As the most popular choice for first-year students, Theophilus Tower offers a supportive and dynamic environment, helping students transition from high school to college. The renovation will update 394 beds, revitalize community spaces, enable year-round occupancy with the addition of air conditioning and improve study areas to better serve the needs of incoming Vandals.

Specialized floors for engineering, computer science, economics and business students foster academic collaboration and social connection. The renovation will modernize lounges, study spaces and shared facilities, ensuring first-year students have a comfortable, engaging and academically supportive home on campus.

Sustainability and energy efficiency will also be key aspects of the renovation, aligning the facility with modern environmental and technological standards. With its prime location and renewed amenities, Theophilus Tower will continue to be a thriving hub for first-year students, supporting their academic and personal growth. Renovations are scheduled for completion between August 2025 and August 2027.
